National Diabetes Week 2020

In Australia, National Diabetes week is July 12 – 18, 2020.

This national diabetes week, the campaign is called Heads Up On Diabetes. Consequently, the focus is on the emotional and mental impact of living with diabetes.

The campaign aims to raise community awareness about the mental and emotional health challenges of diabetes.

For those that juggle diabetes, it can involve an extra 180 decisions each day.

That’s exhausting just thinking about.

Our team of doctors here at Queen Street Medical Centre encourage people living with diabetes to talk about mental health and access support if they need it.

Doctors are available to chat in person or via telehealth about any struggles you may have with managing diabetes.

Our practice nurse Laura also has additional training in Diabetes. She is also available to chat through any concerns regarding diabetes management.
