We welcome new patients to Queen Street Medical Centre. If you are a new patient, we ask that you arrive at Queen Street Medical Centre 10 to 15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time to complete a New Patient Form. Please note that one of our receptionists may call you to confirm your appointment time and to provide directions to our clinic.
Due to our inner-city location, many of our client’s book appointments during work hours and before or after work. We respect the need to run on time and ask that you help us achieve this by scheduling an appropriate appointment duration to suit the items you need to discuss with your GP.
Standard Appointment (15 minutes)
A standard consultation would be suitable if you have one or two items to discuss with the doctor.
Examples of appointments requiring a standard 15 minutes include:
- Cold or Flu
- Urinary Tract Infection
- Ear Infection
- Minor Injury
- Sore Eye
- Blood Pressure Review
- Repeat Prescription
- Cervical cancer screening test (previously a Pap smear)
- Flu Vaccination
Long Appointment (30 minutes)
If you have a complex item or more than two items to discuss with the doctor, please book a long appointment. If you are unsure whether your medical issues will require a long consultation, please phone reception on (07) 3229 9355 to discuss your needs.
Examples of appointments requiring a long 30 minutes include:
- Skin Checks
- Mental Health Care Plans
- Travel Health
- Newborn check-up and vaccinations (6-weeks old)
- Medicals (Employment, Insurance, Driving etc.)
- Chronic or complex medical conditions
- Cervical cancer screening test + other items to discuss
If you require a procedure or a booking with the practice nurse, please phone reception on (07) 3229 9355 to discuss your needs.
Examples of appointments requiring the treatment room may include:
- Skin Excisions
- Implanon Insertion or Removal
- Iron Infusions
- Childhood Vaccines
- Biopsies / Minor Procedures
